“What is a surefire way to turn my mobile app idea into a success?”
I get many emails asking the same question. So I decided to write a blog post on this topic.

Frankly, It’s difficult to answer this question because several factors contribute to a success of a mobile app, but if I have to name one then my advice would be to Go Down to Niche.
Building mobile app for a specific user’s definite problem has its benefits.

Niching will force you to go for Persona Building where you will be writing the representation of your mobile apps’s intended users.
You can understand their motives to use your app. You can analyze their behavior & design your app’s user experience. With personas, you will be making your mobile app for your end users & having precise app requirements for mobile app development.

Mobile App Launch Stage:
Going down to niche help to get through the clutter of apps. By serving niche, your marketing efforts will be highly focused. You will be only targeting your mobile apps’s intended users. With a good word of mouth & content marketing, you will be dominating your niche.
Seth Godin in his book “Unleashing The Ideavirus” emphasized the importance of identifying a vacuum in the market & quickly dominating it. Take the example of Instant Messaging Apps, there is no vacuum in that market. It has players like WhatsApp, Hike, Viber, BBM. It’s difficult to create a new instant messing app & get a considerable market share because the vacuum is already filled.

Ask yourself “Does my niche has a vacuum for my mobile app idea? ”
If your answer is affirmative & you’re solving a real problem, then your mobile app idea has a good chance to be successful.
I am not saying don’t dream big, but i am saying start with a niche.
Go inch wide & a mile deep.
